Boston Seafarer services:

• Internet
  • There is free internet access at the Ralph L. Garrett Seafarer's Center. We have computers online for your convenience, as well as open wireless access.

• Lodging
  • Affordable, clean and centrally located lodging is available to seafarers at the Mariners House in Boston's historic North End.
     
• Magazines, books, movies and more!
  • We bring some reading materials aboard on our initial visit. But, there are many more books, magazines, movies and games available at Ralph L. Garrett Seafarer's Center.
     
• Money Transfer
  • We can schedule secure money transfers onboard in cooperation with the New England Seafarer's Mission.
     
• Phones, Phone Cards and Mobile-phones
  • We always come aboard with the high-quality and affordable phone cards. When there is neither a convenient public phone or the crew are detained, we also have a limited number of mobile phones to leave aboard your vessel while in port.
     
• Ralph L. Garrett Seafarer's Center
  • The seafarer's center is located at 77 Broadway in the heart of downtown Chelsea. You are always welcome at the center from 9:00am to 9:00pm, Monday - Friday. However, there may be times when the center must be closed because all of the chaplains are out on service. To be sure, call 617.889.6315 before coming to the center.
    
    The center has free phone and internet services, books, games, magazines, television, a clothing store and basic store items. We love having people in the center and look forward to hosting you in your home away from home.
     
• Transportation
  • We provide van service for your convenience. We will provide one round trip in the afternoon following lunch, and one round trip in the evening. Additional service may be provided upon approval or if docked at the Gulf Terminal (due to facility restrictions).
    • Service is provided to:

      • Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market - short walk to Downtown Crossing
      • Target Superstore
      • The nearest MBTA Subway station
      • The Ralph L. Garrett Seafarer's Center
• Visitation
  • We try to visit every ship in port within the first 6-hours of its arrival from 9:00am to 9:00pm. We are committed to getting to every ship, but there are times we simply cannot meet that objective. If you need us and we have not yet made it to you, please feel free to call us at 617.889.6315.
